ITS Arab Seeks Progress on System Deployment
Speaking on the sidelines of Gulf Traffic, ITS Arab will try to shine more light on the future timescales and scale of intelligent transportation system developments in the region at its next conference. The two-day event, on the theme ‘Towards smart mobility’, will take place in Dubai on 25-26 April 2017 and focus on traffic safety, congestion, security and demand management.
“The Middle East has reached an important milestone in transportation infrastructure development,” ITS Arab Secretary General Zeina Nazer said. “ITS is becoming the new development focus toward the Smart City programme.” However, “The ITS scalability and roadmap towards Smart City deployment remain unclear for most decision makers and therefore the aim of the next ITS Arab event is to shed more light on the current international state of the art.”
It will do this by tackling immediate Middle East ITS requirements while remaining on course towards the Smart Mobilty goal, which includes autonomous vehicles deployments.
